I started eliminating commercial cleaning products from our home about six years ago. It wasn’t until I started this process that I realised how many toxic chemicals I was adding to our environment. Not to mention the cost! DIY vegan household cleaner is so easy and inexpensive to make.
Eliminating commercial products from you home can take time. As you’re nearing the end of a regularly used product, search for a DIY cleaning product alternative. Buy the ingredients needed and have a clear jar or repurpose a spray bottle for storage. Alternatively, order a vegan and eco-friendly solution online. Being prepared will make it easier to break the routine of supermarket brands.
DIY Vegan Household Cleaner
This vegan household cleaner is ridiculously easy and cheap to make. It smells and feels divine. It’s so nice to touch, it’s tempting not to slather it on your body!
The recipe makes a cream cleanser that is suitable for stubborn stains like grease, rust and built-up grime. Yet, it’s still gentle enough to use without damaging surfaces. The bi-carb soda gives the gentle abrasiveness needed to shift stubborn marks and the oils leave that ‘freshly-cleaned’ smell. Not a harsh chemical to be found!
I use this cleaner on my kitchen countertops to remove cooking stains; in bathroom basins, shower and bath; and the toilet.
